Israel’s war on Gaza has reached a 10 month mark with devastation in Khan Younis, with strikes on the city killing at least six people.
This morning Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that airstrikes across the enclave through the night into the morning, including an airstrike in the Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah neighbourhood killing a family of three.
As Israel continues its strikes on the enclave, Hamas has announced that it has appointed the mastermind of the 7 October attacks Yahya Sinwar as the group’s political bureau chief following the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on 31 July.
Sinwar appointment has been congratulated by a number of Hamas allies, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Yemen’s Houthis.
As Israel continues its war on the enclave, US President Joe Biden has continued to press for a ceasefire, calling the leaders of Egypt and Qatar about a ceasefire and about how to prevent a regional escalation.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed 39,677 people, wounded a further 91,645 and left at least damaged and destroyed as much as 65 percent of the enclave’s buildings.
