Israel strikes, kills Palestinians in Tulkarm, Khan Younis

At least five people have been killed in an Israeli military strike on a vehicle near Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank on Saturday, with among those killed a man named Haithem Bleidi, local media reports state.

The identities of the others were not clear, according to the Wafa news agency, which cited health officials.

Israeli artillery shelling also targeted buildings in Gaza’s  Khan Younis, Deir el-Balah and the Bureij refugee camp in strikes overnight and early on Saturday.

The overnight strikes killed at least eight Palestinians and wounded over 30 others. The strikes killed a pregnant woman alongside her husband and two of her kids.

In Khan Younis, five Palestinians have been killed, Al Jazeera reported, including three woman and one child.

The region is still reeling from the assassination of Hamas top chief Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed in Tehran, Iran, earlier this week. Fears of a full-scale conflict in the Middle East have increased, as Iran and Lebanese group Hezbollah have vowed revenge, and Israel promised to continue its war in Gaza and to respond to any retaliatory attacks.
