Israel strikes kill over a dozen including mother and baby

Israeli forces carried out a series of bombings across the Gaza Strip in the early hours of Wednesday, killing over a dozen Palestinians, including a mother and a baby who was around six months old.

A Palestinian family was reportedly asleep in their home in Jabalia before Israeli shelling struck them. At least eight people were killed in the strike, including five children.

Several others were killed, including a child, while others were injured after an Israeli airstrike targeted a residential apartment in central Gaza’s al-Bureij refugee camp.

At least one person was also killed in Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza.

Attacks have also occurred in Gaza City, Khan Younis and Rafah, according to Palestinian media and Al Jazeera.

Meanwhile, in Yemen, the Houthi rebels have accused the US of carrying out at least 17 strikes in the provinces of Saada and Amran.

The rebels’ Ansarollah website said US warplanes carried out “aggressive air raids causing material damage to citizens’ property”, but gave no details of casualties.

On 15 March, the Trump administration announced a military offensive against the Houthis, promising to use overwhelming force until the group stopped firing on vessels in the key shipping routes of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
