Hungarian police said Monday they have ended a search operation on the river Danube following a collision between a cruise ship and a motorboat after finding all seven missing bodies.
The small motorboat crashed into a Swiss-registered cruise ship, travelling upstream from Budapest, on May 18. The motorboat, carrying eight people, capsized.
“The search for victims has ended, as the police found the body of… the seventh fatality,” police said.

One Italian on the motorboat survived the accident, authorities said. He was badly injured but swam ashore.
The cruise ship continued its journey but was later stopped with visible damage by police, and the crew and the passengers were questioned.
The captain was later taken into custody. He is not accused of causing the accident.
In May 2019, Hungary’s worst boating accident in more than half a century saw two vessels collide on the Danube, killing 25 tourists and two crew.
