Embark on a garden tour delving into the diverse world of Arab American plants and gardening! We will start at Al-Hadiqa, AANM’s rooftop heritage garden, weaving together stories of aromatic herbs like za’atar and thyme, alongside fig and olive trees with rich histories. We will then move beyond the Museum walls to a local community member’s garden, exploring the personal narratives behind plants like jasmine and Syrian peas. This tour invites you to explore the ancestral practices and deep-rooted connections flourishing within these gardens, celebrating the distinctive Arab gardening traditions thriving in Dearborn and Detroit.
Prepare for a leisurely stroll as you explore, with walks of up to 20 minutes connecting the vibrant stories on this immersive garden tour.
